My name is Tere West-Arroyo and I’ve been a member of LOJ since May of 2003. I’m your stereotypical busy career mom. When my husband and I aren’t watching our 3 kids participate in soccer, basketball, track, music recitals or band concerts, you can usually find me on the tennis court or watching a professional tennis match. I’m the captain for my club’s career women’s doubles team and I also enjoy competing on the singles squad. We’re not ready for the tour, but there are many heated battles between us weekend warriors.
Since I was young I have had a passion for writing. Poems, short stories, articles and fiction…you name it and I dabble. Like most writers, I’m in the middle of the next great American novel. Although I’ve been published, I’ve yet to be paid. Perhaps that makes me merely a struggling writer.
I enjoy working with the youth at LOJ. Their desire to approach God in a practical way is refreshing. Usually, I wind up learning more from them than I ever expect. When discouraged, I can always find a young person at LOJ with an encouraging word, insight, smile or hug. Watching them mature in their relationship with Christ is very fulfilling for me. As they continue to utilize their spiritual gifts and develop into adulthood, I look forward to hearing the impact they’ll make on the world!
